Observation details
Bird Seen at sunset near the north end of the beach. Bold supercilium and very long primary projections. 3-4 Primaries extend past the tail. When probing for food primaries extend past tail in classic V pattern. Very petite in comparison to Black-bellied Plovers, lacks dark under-wings, and has a much smaller bill. Responded to both call and song of AGPL, would extend neck and carefully observe it's surroundings. At one point it came running right up to me! Completely ignored the flight call of Pacific Golden-Plover. Also noted that the bird is still primarily in basic plumage. Found by Chet McGaugh and Mark Chappell earlier in the day.
