NOTES: Neotropical Institute Cut # 6. Bulk reel: 180 Weather: Cloudy, fair. 203 tape. a) 6:30 AM. Song after playback of 5d). (Very probably same bird as in Cuts 3 & 5.) Quality: 1. Level: 0. 15 ips. LN. b) 6:50 AM. No further playback; bird now singing from top of vine-covered tree at edge of and above road. Quality: 1-2. Level: +2. 7.5 ips. LN. c) 7:00 AM. May be same bird, now in full view at top of Panicum maximum spikelets at upper end of stand, picking seeds and singing; the sound of its "cracking" the seeds is clearly heard. During the first part of this recording a female-plumaged bird of undetermined identity also gleaned seeds, at times only 60 cm from the singing bird. Both gleaned seeds at a very rapid rate. Quality: 1-2. Level: +2 and Quality: 1. Level: +2. 7.5 & 15 ips. LN.
