Observation details

Two distinct medium gray mantled gulls - each with very different features but inconsistent with pure AHGU AND LBBG. One bird in breeding plumage and one (seen on 3-26-25 initially) with asymmetrical mirrors on dark rectangular wingtips. Photos of both. The birds have been discussed with regional gull specialists who agree with putative hybrid assessment of each. The flight photo with a herring gull and a darker backed gull shows the bird also seen on 3-26. Note the single mirror on the left wing and no mirror on the right.
