Media notes

Adult female wood duck calling to her ducklings, apparently in alarm when I appeared nearby at the edge of the marsh. The ducklings swam over to her and they all disappeared deeper into the reeds. Red-winged blackbirds are also audible. Recorded at the blind on the edge of Torsey Pond. Edits to the file: trimmed to eliminate excessive noise from wind.

Observation details

Audio recordings of the adult. I got the impression she was calling the ducklings to follow her into cover when she saw me emerge on the path at the edge of the water. Audio recordings of the adult.
