These are begging calls of spoonbill chicks

Observation details

Six apparently active nests, one of which has failed since the last visit (2 January, when the nest had at least one small chick) but still occupied by the pair, which was seen copulating. Two nests with adults guarding chicks, with one of these nests occupied by one near-to-fledging chick (lots of wing flagging); one with adult brooding chick; and two with birds apparently incubating but difficult to see clearly because of shielding vegetation.
