Observation details
Large flock of mixed age large gulls. Adults have white heads with yellow beaks that have a red spot on lower mandible, highly contrasting dark mantle and wings with white tertials and black primaries, plain white unmarked breast and bellies, and pale yellow legs. Sub-adults appear to be first winter, with pale brown patterning on mantle and wings, and pale legs. Loafing on beach at water’s edge, mostly separated from other gulls and terns. Nikon Aculon 7x50 binoculars; Bushnell 10x50 binoculars; Nikon Z50 camera with DX 50-250 zoom lens.
