Media notes
NOTES: Red-headed Woodpecker - 'chatter-like" call. Two birds were present, unknown if one or both birds gave the recorded vocalizations. Low cut filter on Sennheiser BP-2 power module filter engaged. [Actually, I suspect these 17 sets of "chatters" instead represent the Territorial Call of BNA, described as "kikarik" and shown in Figure 3B, but I must admit that this is not a call with which I am at all familiar (see also LNS #26216, 41336). I further suspect that the Territorial Call, the Hyla versicolor-like Alarm Call, and the scolding "KRIT-tar-rah" described in the account all represent the same vocalization. Quality changed from 2-3 to 2 - CAM - 21 April 2005]. Habitat: Forest, Coniferous Forest.
