Observation details
Imm. male. First seen in flight from brushy patch along south most of fort. Pursued to SW corner near Hotshot Furnace. Well seen in excellent sunlight for two minutes at 30 m with 10X42 bins and through 500 mm camera lens. Multiple photos (1 BOC posted). Roughly NOCA size but heavier build. Bold black and white head stripes. White throat. Dark brown mottled upperparts with white wing bars. Rump orange rust. Breast and belly ruddy orange without markings. White undertail coverts. Dark tail. Flew north along west walll out of sight. About 20 minutes later while walking east along south sea wall, we saw what was presumably the same individual at close range in shrubs at wall. (Though given the separation two birds is a possibility.) Bird flew far to the east along sea wall and was not relocated.
