Observation details
Many thanks to Griffin Lepage for finding this great bird! Large sea duck with a short neck and long yellowish-bone coloured bill with feathering on the cheek that is pointed where it extends to below the nostril. Bill processes (lobes) are narrow and pointed as on the Northern borealis subspecies of Common Eider. Many new black feathers indicate it is a first winter (formative) male.
