Observation details
Clearly not expecting this species at this date, first seen (1-bird) over the bathing Gulls at the pond. I Scrambled for my camera all the while the Tern was heading out towards the beach (Calling) when I finally got the camera set up to my surprise there was 3 Caspian Terns heading out towards the beach. I was finally able to get off a few shots before the Terns flew out of view. These were large Terns, (Ring-billed gull size) solid black cap, thick red bill, board wings, dark under primaries. Call was a harsh quak type call…reminded me of a Black-Cr.Night-heron call.
