NOTES: Neotropical Institute Cut # 3. Bulk reel: 143 139 tape. This is a natural "song" and although "decapitated" is the longest so far heard. Quality: 1-2. Level: +3. Then another from start, not quite in focus in beginning. Quality: 1-2. Level: +3. Note: A field note mentions this species was present at my camp at 1,160 m. @ km 15 on road from San Cristobal to La Florida. However, I seem not to have any recordings of it from there. This should be checked into further. LNS: Reclassified from S. femoralis to S. atratus nigricans based on identification by Tom Schulenberg. -M. Medler, 12 March 2009.
