Observation details
Spotted by Steve Wagner. A small Empid flycatcher that I immediately flagged as something unusual. Bird was seen my the whole group as it foraged near the parking lot, typically within 3 feet of the ground, constantly flicking wings. No vocals. Dark face and throat. Two wings bars, lower more prominent than upper. Eye ring oblong, thicker in front and back. Bill rather dark, with limited light coloration on lower mandible. Crown was green with face and upper chest slate gray, with a contrasting ochre back and yellowish underparts. Wings seemed especially long, at least compared to LEFL. I was unable to photograph the primary spacing, but I understand that subsequent observers were able to do so. One photo attached, more to come once I get home.
