NOTES: Male and female with two downy chicks. (First breeding record for Melville Island). 0.17 announcement; 8.40 injury, feigning display. Anxiety calls of adults. One type when recordist is still and another when he moves (9.0). Male and female calls separable. Footsteps? 9.20 Red knots, cut 2.--young knots and knot distress. [This cut contains good "Alarm Calls", primarily low- to medium-intensity (up to 8:56 and 9:13-9:42, 9:57-10:02, 10:04-10:55, except call at 10:52), but also high intensity (8:57-9:09 and 10:52), following the terminology of Connors et al. (1993. Auk 110:9-20). Also four good calls by Calidris canutus (9:44-9:53). Quality changed from1-2 to 2-3, 1 - CAM - 2 December 2004].
