NOTES: Two types of display? calls given in flight. ?Two males. Two birds calling in part. Dubbed from reel 1 Kavik River Camp. Credit CAGSL where feasible. Background noise: wind, parabola, announcement, "10 June". [This cut contains a variety of vocalizations. The first section (0:14-0:41) appears to represent the "Chase Call" of Connors et al. (1993. Auk 110:9-20), or conversely, the "Aggression Call' described in BNA. After this, the second part 0:47-1:05 appears to represent the "Repetitive Call" that accompanies the "butterfly-flight display" by males, this followed by a "Complex Whistle" at 1:06. From 1:14-1:26 are more "Repetitive Calls" again followed by a "Complex Whistle" at 1:26. Between 1:37 and about 2:55 one finds a combination of "Repetitive Calls", "Aggression Calls", and a few "Complex Whistles" by two or more birds, after which, the rest of the recording represents mostly "Repetitive Calls". Quality changed from 2-3 to 2-3,2 (maybe 2-1 in places, but with wind noise almost throughout) - CAM - 1 December 2004].
