Observation details
Unbanded adult. Photos obtained. First spotted by ambiguous birding duo Landon Neumann and Sean Verkamp. Amy Kearns believes this is a second year bird based on some of the brown seen in the alula, at least based on initial photos of LCD sent via text message. Bird was seen on power lines at 1200W and 500S initially. Flew around this area over the course of 20-30 minutes. We observed it catch and eat several insects on the ground, at least one time flying over at least a portion of GP6E and then shortly thereafter landing in Goose Pond proper just south of 500 for about 10 seconds while it captured an insect. It ate all of the insects itself and did not seem to be tending to a nest.
