Observation details
Smaller than Canada Goose. Bill yellow-orange. The neck in front was black just like a Canada Goose. The black extended up behind the ears where it was more flecked black with some white. The head was entirely white and the white colour extended down the back of the neck to the back. The breast was the colour of the back of a Canada Goose, not white like a Canada Goose. The body, (back and wings) of this bird had the identical scalloped appearance and colour of a Canada Goose. It clearly did not have the black, edged with white, feathers of a dark phase or intermediate morph Snow Goose and this is why we ruled out Snow Goose. Unfortunately, the photos do not clearly show the body and wingtips. See photo.
