NOTES: Neotropical Institute Cut # 1. Bulk reel: 105 a) The first recordings were made after I had whistled an imitation of the bird's song and so cannot be considered completely natural. ("Sawmill cicadas" are loud in background.) Quality: 2. Level: +5. 7:00 AM. Weather: Clear. Then the recordings without the cicada interference were very likely made after playback of the previous part. (Prominently heard also are Piprites chloris, Cyphorhinus arada, Amazona farinosa, Myrmothera campanisona, etc.) Quality: 1-2. Level: +5. b) 12:15 PM. Weather: Fair. Two birds heard. (High wind noise in foliage.) Quality: 2. Level: +10. c) 28/IV/67. 6:05 AM. Weather: Clear. Very likely the same pair as above. The male had the higher voice. Voice comment at end. The pair was collected (= male #5729, female #5728). Quality: 2. Level: +5.
