Observation details
***MEGA (1st state record) | continuing bird on Half Mile Beach (Todd's Point) found/photographed earlier today by Zac Fait; many thanks to Doug Hitchcox for promptly relaying the report from out-of-state; foraging in the company of a PIPL; grayish (sand-colored) legs; thin, pointed, black bill; I'm guessing this is an adult male based on the bold black head/neck markings (females often duller); I watched the bird catch, kill, and consume many winged insects with ease both on dry and wet sand
