Observation details
***MEGA | 9th-ish state record (see Maine Bird Records Committee species page); found/photographed around 12:45pm today by Zeke Smith on Stratton Island (York Co.), then spotted by Timothy Fennell off Prout's Neck (Cumberland Co.); Brad Zitske was present when I arrived at the end of Black Point Rd. and he'd just seen the bird fly by; within minutes the bird flew over our heads; I then watched the bird kiting just south of Prout's Neck for the next 15 minutes; this large, slender-winged, fork-tailed seabird soared with just slight wing and tail adjustments street parking not allowed at this location, so I opted to make my visit brief
