NOTES: Neotropical Institute Cut # 1. Bulk reel: 94 Weather: Cloudy, fair. Natural song (& calls) by three adult males perched on power wires (unfortunately near a large transformer bank whicih produced a loud hum). These birds were more active vocally before I discovered them and could set up to record; long intervals between vocal activity have been edited out. Quality: "1". Level: +3, 0, +3. 7.5 & 3.75 ips. 203 tape. LN. The birds sat with bills constantly pointing straight up and periodically one would sing, followed ~ at once by the other (sequence was not always the same), or two would sing simultaneously. The third bird joined in very little, if at all, when I was paying attention. When the birds left, first one bird flew and a amoment later a second bird flew, following after the first; then the third bird flew but in exactly the opposite direction from the other two. Not expecting this, I wasn't paying close attention but I rather recall it was this third bird that did not join in the song of the other two.
