NOTES: Neotropical Institute Cut # 2. Bulk reel: 93; Extra cut length: 7:53Weather: Cloudy, fair. 12:00 PM to 12:50 PM. Recordings made at an active nest colony with young in the nest. This is the first year for this cacique colony. In the same tree is a nesting colony of Psarocolius viridis which has been in use since at least last year. Quality: 1. Level: 0.The recording begins with the calls of an adult arriving at the nest and the cries of the young in response. Thereafter there are heard various calls, songs, etc. by the caciques. Also heard from time to time are song and calls, both adult and young, by P. viridis.1:10 PM to 1:30 PM. Continuation of above a little later. (This part prob. has more song at better gain.) ("Flicker-song" of Dryocopus lineatus prominent at one (two) places. Also drums.) Quality: 1. Level: 0. Other Behaviors: Arrive, Establish Parent Young Contact, Beg, Social Context: Colony.
