Observation details
Notes at time of observation: Size and shape similar to an Audubon's Warbler, but tail a little shorter. Throat black, extending onto the flanks as black streaks. Black on throat extends up to eye. Rest of underparts clean white, including undertail coverts. Slate blue extending from forehead to uppertail coverts on dorsum. Faint dark streaking on back. Wing black with white base of primaries. White line at bend of wing. Call a hard smacking, similar to a Dark-eyed Junco, but distinctly warbler-like. Fairly active bird, but not much wing or tail flicking. Usually fairly low in trees, but also high in the eucalyptus. One indistinct white wingbar on greater coverts.
