Observation details
Discovered by Joel Strong (one bird) and, later, Mike Gullo had two birds. One bird spread its wings and I could see no white between the gray mantle and the black wingtips nor any white in the wingtips themselves. That bird also showed a longer bill with a more strongly curved culmen than on a FRGU. I only saw the second bird as it slept some distance away from the first bird. In size and shape I could not discern a difference between the two with my 8X30 binoculars. Also, the white eye arcs did not impress me as being larger than on the first bird. In addition, my photos do not show any noticeable white in the black wingtips of this bird.
