NOTES: Neotropical Institute Cut # 13. Bulk reel: 68. Clear, slight haze, no moon. After the female was collected, there was some rain. After that I ran recorder to see if male might be heard. Quality: 2-3. Level: +10. 3.75 ips and 7.5 ips. The bird with the higher voice was collected ~ 8:00 PM this evening. It proved to be a female, #5202, had bat in stomach. This bird identifies perfectly as nominate huhula. This therefore is only the third such specimen known from Venezuela, extends the range within Venezuela and it and recordings seem confirm that huhula and nigrolineata are conspecific. [sic] First we hear "cries" from the "young"(?) bird. Then after a while single hoots by male, then both heard. They both were rather far back in the woods. The male would not respond to playback. Tape speed: 3.7 & 7.5. Habitat: Forest.
