NOTES: "A small family group foraging together in low trees and shrubs. Might possibly be Black-capped Gnatcatchers (see cut 1) nesting in same canyon. A series of buzzy notes. 'bizzz' and chatter. ' Those are gnatcatchers'" (WWHG)[I believe that these may indeed repreent the calls and song of Polioptila nigriceps, but it is difficult to be certain. The first part of this recording begins with the "Type I" vocalization of Atwood [1988. Ornithological Monograph 42], but ends with Type VI vocalizations.
