NOTES: "early morning;"a few calls" (1st 2 may be playback); copy of original recording (#84) on cassette by Dr. S. M. Russell, U. of Az., Tuscon AZ; voice SMR" (WWHG) [This recording contains nine song-like phrases, described in BNA as "chee-lick" or "chee-lick chou." Most examples here are the two-parted "chee-lick" but the song at 0:55 combines the "chee-lick" with a trilled "chou" element and the one at 1:19 is a more typical "chee-lick chou". Despite an announcement to the contrary about a lack of response to playback, I suspect the trilled series given during this announcement at 1:32-1:36 is an alarm or aggression call by this species. Quality unchanged (2 - possibly 2-1 after 2:46, but possibly also overloaded slightly) - CAM - 7 September 2005].
