NOTES: Neotropical Institute Cut # 6. Bulk reel: 54 7:30 PM to 8:00 PM. Weather: Fair. Type B song, apparently in reaction to my whistled imitation of the type A song. Quality: 2-3. Level: +5. This is probably the female. (Much background noise.) Type B song, apparently by the male, in reaction to playback of the female's type B song. Quality: 1-2. Level: +5. Then type A song, by the male, in reaction to playback of its own type B song. This bird was seen to be rufous and after it was collected, the other bird was seen to be a brown-phase bird and it too was then collected. The female sang much less than the male, also had higher voice. Male rufous #7040; female brown #7041. Response to playback: Different song.
