Observation details

Rare breeder in MA. Male and female seen together at one point with female hanging around and giving alarm calls frequently. Also chasing an AMCR that came too close. Female seen carrying prey to a suspected nest area and returning to an exposed snag nearby without that prey a few minutes later. A light search of the surrounding area did not reveal a nest, but the female was in the immediate area for the entire duration of our group gathering (5+ hours). Given the date and behavior of the female there is likely a nest with young. Recording and photos.
