NOTES: Neotropical Institute Cut # 39. Bulk reel: 52. 203 tape. Weather: Cloudy, fair. Type A song, recorded ~ 20 min. after bird brought into song by whistled imitation. Quality: 1-2. Level: +5. 3 3/4". Now, shortly after playback of its own song. 3 3/4". (One song removed from this recorded for filing under Tinamus major.) [sic] This bird then collected R.G. male #7893. Note: 17/III/70 - I tried playback of all O. watsonii and O. usta field tapes in region between Orope and Rio Catatumbo, Zulia, and obtained no reaction. O. guatemalae was later found to be in these woods; see Cut [blank] of that species.
