NOTES: Neotropical Institute Cut # 16. Bulk reel: 44 Weather: Fair, moon. a) 4/XI/65 11:40 PM. Three natural songs by a bird near road at usual spot (but on south side?). However, both the south and north side birds that sing normally have low voices and this sounds slilghtly higher to my ear (by memory; will have to check). Quality: 2. Level: +10. b) 5/XI/65 1:25 AM. This is a higher-voiced bird about 60 m (not 30 m) up the road, by bridge. Actually this seems to be a "medium-high" voice and this is the type of voice most heard in this spot now, especially near the bridge. I could not bring the bird into sight for collecting. Could these be young birds, born this year? I haven't been able to get any sustained reaction from the low-voiced birds which were before easily attracted. Quality: 1-2. Level: +10.
