NOTES: Neotropical Institute Cut # 13. Bulk reel: 18; Extra cut(s) on bulk reel: 19; Extra cut length: 5:29 part B a), b), & c) recorded from 1855 hours to 1930 hours @ 7.5 ips. a) 21 June 1964. Birds first started singing at 6:55 PM, when it was nearly dark. (Only a portion saved.) Quality: 1-2. Level: 4.5. Playback of that brought the birds in close with following recordings made: b) One start with "laughs"; frogs and Limpkin in background. Quality: 1-2. Level: 4.5. c) New start with "laughs": one bird starts, then its mate joins. Quality: 1-2. Level: 4.5. Some insect and frog background. CHANGE 15 IPS. d) 22 June 1964. 2:00 AM. Weather: Clear, moon. About 11:00 PM this pair sang, but I wasn't able to record them. Then @ ~ 2:00 AM I played back some of previous recording and they flew in with following result. Quality: 1. Level: 4.5. One bird starts with laughs; as it nears end of song cycle the second bird starts with laughs and then the first starts again. Note: This carries into Reel 4. [Recordist did not indicate type of microphone used. He indicated that he used a parabolal but did not specify make/model.]. Response to playback: Approach.
