Observation details
Male!!! On the way out of town we stopped to check out the gull gathering that wasn't there before when we spotted the shorebirds walking away from us on the beach off the senior center. One was clearly a Marbled but the second was smaller and darker on the back. We commented on this, wondered if the second could possibly be a hudwit and waited to see if they would turn. When they did it the second bird was a beautiful male Hudsonian! Then they started walking and even running toward us. We spent the next 45 minutes watching them as close range. I believe this is just the second record for Clallam county following one at Dungeness in Sep 2013. We called Adrianne right away and she was able to head over and enjoy the bird with us.
