Observation details
Small phalarope, short dark legs, short needle like bill, wading in shallow ocean / beach, feeding in floating weeds along with two Willet and one sanderling. Bird was very small, about half the size of Willet. Plumage was adult / breeding. Surprised to see this bird. Weather: clear, SSW wind gusts between 30-50 mph all day. Photos to follow.
