Observation details
Life bird. Heard a call reminiscent of a great crested flycatcher. Medium sized woodpecker, big white face. White patch above bill. White upper eye arc. Striped back like a Red-bellied. Foraging on a Loblolly pine. Lousy pics and audio TBA. First observed in the grove by the dam 35.6542081, -79.0648360. Bird flew to the East towards the big field.
