"After the long song sequence in Cut 4, the bird was silent for a while; the dusk was getting deeper; then the solitaire began to give its piping "whistle" call note - perhaps a roosting call. Immediately a Swainson's thrush also called and the two intermingled calls, then the thrush sang while the solitaire continued to call and then the Solitaire sang too. The Swainson's thrush and the neighboring solitaire sang along. I ran out of tape before it was over.--William W. H. Gunn. Nagra III used was serial number 60-301. 0:13-1:04 the metallic tink call of Townsend's Solitaire and the two-noted call of Swainson's Thrush are intermingled.
