Observation details
BEAUTIFUL Bird!!! Singing and feeding in a strangler fig located here: (24.5738735, -81.7483362). Photos and audio to be uploaded. Distinctive black and white striped head, yellow throat transitioning into deep orange chest and back to yellow belly, with light gray-brown flanks and vent, deep yellow-orange rump, olive-green back and prominent white patches on wings. Possibly same bird first found by John G. back in Oct. 2022 at Fort Zach SP, then again by Mark H., Mark S., and Ellen W. during Key West CBC at the Indigenous Park off White St in late Dec. 2022. Non eBird reported possible WESP at the Cemetary in...Jan. 2023--Not confirmed. Bird seems to be associated with fig trees at each sighting. Check every fig or fruiting tree!
