Observation details
An very uncommon visitor to Central Massachusetts, was first seen by Dave Grant and Donna Shcilling when it flew in earlier in the day. A small white "heron" with orange crown, breeding plumes, neck/throat, back and 2 toned medium.short (for a heron.Egret) bill ...yellow eye. Feeding in grassy field on insects/invertebrates and seeming to find plenty of food. I will attached photos when time allows. Upon reviewing pictures the 2-toned appearance of the bill was from a soiled tip, from the bird's feeding habits.
