Observation details
Two light adults, two dark adults. All seen well, rather large and heavily built Jaegers. Of the two light phase, one had partial central tail feathers, one without; one sat on the water a couple of times for very good views. Heavy bill and extensive dark cap extending below eye; rather thick, distinct breast band. The dark birds had full "spoons" (fully developed central tail feathers). All showed distinct pale flash at base of primaries. Photos
