Observation details
First seen by Cecilia from the observation tower, while we were still debating whether we should split up the group in order to have better chances to find the bird, which is known to be at this location. It was flying low over the fields, southward, until it disappeared behind the reeds. Those who were not on the observation tower only saw it from behind. Brown back, tawny tail with dark brown bands. Long broad wings with brown streaks and creamy blotches. Face not visible from behind, but it has anotable thick head in comparion to its body. There used to be a pair at this location, but one of them was found dead some weeks ago. This must be the surviving bird.
