Observation details
I believe this is either a Couch's or Tropical Kingbird. The bird flew into to the same tree that the kiskadee was calling from, but they did not appear to interact. I have very little experience with either Couch's or Tropical Kingsbirds, but the yellowish mantle, thick bill that does not appear to be overly long, fairly soft brown wings and tail, underparts as bright yellow as the kiskadee, and the call notes that somewhat mimic WEKI. The few call notes (kip or dik) I heard were measured - not delivered in staccato.
