Observation details
Continuing. Plump gray-backed white shorebird with Forster’s Tern-like facial mask and a stout, yellow-based bill. Foraging frantically while spinning on the surface of the water. It took me all afternoon to relocate this bird after scanning the Flight Deck Pond multiple times from all angles. Thanks to Nancy Hetrick for having spotted it about 5pm, which gave me hope that it was still around. Eventually it flew in along the southern edge of the Flight Deck Pond in great evening light.
