Observation details
Photos. Completely unexpected. Flew into low bushes on the side of the trail that abuts the mangroves (25.1787940, -80.3633061), observed foraging for about a minute, lost for about 10 minutes, then saw again (or different individual? still reviewing photos to compare feather wear patterns) fly back across the trail and continue foraging before disappearing into the hammock. Anyone who chases this bird should spend a decent amount of time walking this section of trail as there is extensive good-quality tropical hardwood habitat present that could hold other goodies.
