Observation details
Initially identified as a Parasitic Jaeger. Turned out to be a Pomarine Jaeger after review by others (see below). Mike Austin - eBird Reviewer Bird looks stocky, barrel chested, with a heavy bill. Perched jaegers without a frame of reference as to size are very difficult for me & I had initially agreed with you until the photo underwent further review. The reviewer at LSU's comments were, "This sure looks to me like a Pomarine, not a Parasitic. Note especially the broad bill with an extensively pale base and the dark cap extending well below the eye, both characters that would be lacking on a Parasitic". Numerous other observers. If it's any consolation at least three other observers identified this bird as a Parasitic Jaeger.
