Observation details
***FIRST BALTIMORE RECORD*** Expert local birder Keith Costley found this bird in the southwest corner of the Masonville Dredged Material Containment Facility (DMCF) this morning, visible from the far end of the Upland Trail. It was foraging with five Killdeer. Another local birder checked his photos when he visited on 2/7 and found that he had photographed the lapwing, so it has been present for at least eight days. (Observer note: I drove right past it during the bird census this morning due to heavy truck traffic and not wanting to stop at this turn. I returned and found a place to pull over where I obtained these photos. Amazing find Keith!)
