NOTES: Background Sounds: people's voices, dragging of carsass, bone crushing, photo flash unit; Sound Category: feeding at carccass; Stimulus for sound: feeding-natural; Behavioral Context of Sound: feeding - small carcass, many Lions; Environmental Zone: semi-arid desert; These seven Lions were all in a known pride which we followed frequently - they were very familier with our presence and in their natural environment. they had killed a springbok and were feeding off of it and growling, slapping at each other and crushing the bones - since the carcass was relatively small and there were 7 hungry Lions, there was plenty of aggression; Habitat: Desert, Scrub.
