Media notes
The empty eggshell (aprox.48mm x 40mm) discarded from the nest andfound in the leaf litter below the Nankeen Night-heron nest in the Holm oak.
Observation details
Four adults actively clambering about the Holm oak. Two birds walked down to the highest nest with double quaarks as they arrived. The other two disappeared in the direction of another nest. No sign of nestling that the café staff saw peering over the nest yesterday morning. Housekeepin in a nest produced two small feathers floating down from the tree and later as the café was about to close, an empty Nankeen Night-heron egg-shell was found in the leaf litter below the Holm oak, confirming the successful incubation of at least one egg.
