Observation details
When first seen bird was up in dunes resting, head tucked with a large number of BBPL. I bird this beach almost daily either in the morning or late afternoon and it has not been seen in this 1/2 mile stretch of beach prior to 12/4. Didn’t bird it 12/5. Large numbers of BBPL occur regularly. Large stretches of appropriate habitat can be found on adjacent base. Medium plover with brownish uppers; pale underparts; very faint eyeline; dark tail with white edges. Was located approximately 1/4 mile north of beach access at 2nd Light Beach(who says the military doesn’t have a sense of humor?)across A1A from the main gate of Patrick SFB.
