Observation details
First heard at 0530 and seen almost immediately. My observation point was above the lake at 40.618880,-115.388426. First saw a pair and then a single, they later joined together and all three were seen simultaneously and watched almost continuously with fantastic views for over an hour. An additional individual was heard at a distance southwest of my position. Most calls were heard during the first 10 minutes (between 0530 and 0540) when both the shrill whistles and accelerating chuckles were heard almost constantly. After the initial burst of calls, the shrill whistles were heard only occasionally (and were very subdued).
