Observation details
Head shape and bill seem at the extreme end for the species. Large, burly bird overall, seems to push the limits for Thayer's. Coverts and scaps are too neat for a Glaucous-wing hybrid? low contrast wing, and primary pattern above and below are fine for Herring x Glaucous-wing, though this does overlap with Thayer's. Greater coverts are fairly neat and checkered for the hybrid too, but I'm not sure that rules it out. The outermost rectrix is also ever so barely barred, does that rule out HERG x GW hybrid?
