Media notes
NOTES: A screeching call probably given during copulation; I wore a black broad billed cap when feeding this bird. When I would first go into the cage it would fly directly to the top of my head, land and turn to face the bill of the cap, lower its wings, stomp up and down with its feet, lower its head and tail and give this call. It would then return to its perch. A repeat performance of the reaction could be stimulated by calling the owl and nodding my head up and down. This reaction started in mid March and ended in late April.; This owl was a very gentle bird adn never hurt either my wife, children or myself when it was being handled; For a history of this bird, see LNS # 49924.
